SedNet Working Group Meeting: Sediment Quality
Workshop on ‘Confounding factors in sediment toxicity testing: what do we know and how can we move forward’
Following up on previous meetings of the SedNet work group on sediment quality (online in 2020 and in Hamburg, Germany, in 2018), we would like to dedicate the Tuesday before the upcoming SedNet conference in Lisbon to a discussion on the reliability of bioassays for sediment assessment. One of the conclusions of the last meeting was the need to be better informed about factors and parameters that can influence sediment bioassay results. Many of us ecotoxicologists have studied the effects of one confounding factor or another on certain bioassays. We would like to create a win-win situation where we can share our information on this topic. Therefore, we invite to this workshop on Tuesday, September 5, people who have data and experience on this topic and are willing to share and discuss it with us so that we can take a step forward, gain insights, identify knowledge gaps and plan future joint activities.
Please contact Susanne Heise if you would like to join us, as the number of participants is limited. Please let us know what type of data on which bioassays you would like to present/discuss. Please note that this event is planned as a working meeting, so full presentations are neither planned nor encouraged. Individual slides on your results or handouts are welcome.
