The SedNet Conference 2023 aims to bring together experts from various fields, fostering collaboration and facilitating engaging discussions. The comprehensive program covers a wide range of interesting topics that are at the forefront of sediment management.

The thematic session will give special attention to challenges posed by anthropogenic influences, resource exploitation and climate change, and how we can truly apply an integrated management approach that enables the sediment continuum.
The thematic sessions are:
1. Sediment quality guidance and sediment quality assessment.
This session also includes the topics ‘Sediment health: what is it and how to achieve it?’ and ‘Zero pollution in the soil-sediment-water nexus’.
2. Circular economy – sediment as a resource.
3. Sediment in coastal and marine management.
4. Climate change and sediments: direct and indirect consequences and opportunities.
5. Sediment management concepts and sediment policy.
This session also includes the topic of ‘Sediment literacy’.

Presenters at the SedNet Conference 2023 are invited to submit their manuscripts for a special issue of the Journal of Soils and Sediment (JSS).
The title of the special issue will be following the conference’s theme: “Sediment continuum: applying an integrated management approach”.

The submission deadline will be in November 2023.
